Our lively and friendly meetings are held at 7:30pm generally on the first Thursday of every month (see below) at Camborne Science and International Academy, Cranberry Road, Camborne (TR14 7PP), and new Members and Guests are always welcome and made welcome.

Here is a map to help you find us:

Thursday 8th November, 7:30 pm Slides from Our Annual Show
Camborne Science & International Academy, Cranberry Rd, Camborne, TR14 7PP

After another cracking show, November's meeting is a chance to relax and enjoy Michael Simmens' photographs of the show featuring not just the winners but every exhibit.  Our Chairman John Doyle has transferred these wonderful photos onto a PowerPoint slide show, and commentary will be provided by Ric Reilly.

Thursday 6th December, 7:30 pm AGM and Social                Camborne Science & International Academy, Cranberry Rd, Camborne, TR14 7PP

It's that time again. time to reflect on another successful year and the work of the Committee, and to hear what is planned for next year, our pearl anniversary year. The formalities will be followed by a festive fayre of Christmas nibbles and a chance to have a natter.

To ensure continuity, our constitution specifies that the Officers of the Society, except the President, serve for renewable three-year terms and that only some of them are elected or re-elected in any given year. This AGM our Chairman and our Show Co-ordinator complete their three years terms, and they may stand for re-election or others may wish to be considered.  In addition, all ordinary Members of the Committee are re-elected annually, and going into this AGM we have two vacancies on the Committee and would welcome some 'fresh blood' and some help.  This plea is against a backdrop of fuchsia and other specialist societies going out of existence with solid membership numbers but no-one prepared to do the 'hard yards'.  What is it they say about 'many hands'?

Signed nomination forms for the Officer and Committee Member posts must be with the Secretary, Cathrine Wales, by 5 pm on Thursday, 22nd November.  Likewise any motions, duly proposed and seconded, for debate and decision at the AGM must be submitted to the Secretary by 5 pm on Thursday, 22nd November.
